Today went well, perhaps because I was out all day. But I did start with looking presentable, and I have been composed and behaved like a lady today. It's nice to feel tranquil and unrushed.

Tomorrow is Papabear's birthday and he was home today. After all his errands were finished, he took me and Khrystibear to the movies. We saw TRUE GRIT. I saw the John Wayne version about a hundred years ago, but I don't remember much about that. This version, with Jeff Bridges, Matt Damon, and Hailee Steinfeld is very memorable. It was clear from the beginning just what was going on and the characters unfolded with no confusion. [Some scenes are not for the young or anyone who might be haunted by blood and gore] Acting was quite amazing. I think you'll enjoy it. It's an intense story that keeps your attention continually. I also saw the latest Harry Potter two nights ago.....it's been a busy/fun week. I'll just say that the big controversial makeout scene was nothing to worry about, but there was plenty else that I wouldn't want young or sensitive souls to see. In my opinion, Harry Potter films are not for children. You could scare them more than you might think. It's just my opinion, but it's true.....^.^) Don't you love movies!!!

I'm jealous you've seen True Grit. Did you realize that's a Coen brothers film? I was just talking to you about the Coen brothers being among my favorite filmmakers. They did O Brother, Where Art Thou?, Fargo, and No Country for Old Men, among others. I've also come to be quite a fan of Jeff Bridges. I can't wait to see the movie.

Unrelated, do you realize you have two playlist jukebox things on your blog? Meaning that whenever someone visits your blog, two competing songs start playing at once. It's a bit ... shall we say, distracting?

Hi Rosalie, I caught up on your blog posts... Love your resolutions --and you are already putting them into play... I had to laugh because I never 'fix' myself up these days. I live in sweats and seldom wear make-up anymore... Oh Well!!!!

We don't do movies much these days --but I'm glad that you liked the new True Grit... So many times, I struggle with the updated movies --since the old ones are so wonderful.

Keep up the good work, you feminine thing you!!!!!
Hugs,
Betsy

I enjoyed True Grit also. I thought it was amazingly similar to the old version. Except the old version was so much more colorful. Remember all those gorgeous fall mountain scenes? It was filmed, both times near where John lives. We visited the area in October. I've always loved it.(Colorado) Acting was great. Right about the gore....I had to close my eyes a time or two, but then I am a wuss.

I would love to see True Grit. I remember watching the original one with John Wayne with my Dad on TV. He was big John Wayne fan. But I too don't remember much about it. Never got into Harry Potter but would like to see the movies someday...

Hugs,
Debbie
