I have to admit to blushing a bit..maybe a lot over posting a review of this book. But it is an important one, dealing with a subject that perhaps we are all dreading having to deal with.
But this is a very educational book and appears to be helpful. So here it is.... and we don't have to discuss it unless you want to.

This review was written for LibraryThing Early Reviewers.

Review of a book for Librarything Early Reviewers The number one reason women are eventually put into RestHome facilities when they reach old age is incontinence. Their caretakers at home simply cannot cope any longer with changing diapers for them. This has always been thought of as an aging effect.

Arnold Kegel, M D is known for his work to improve or illiminate this problem and for his Kegel exercises.Katheryn Kassai, physical therapist and founder of the Praxis Physical Therapy and Kim Perelly, Women's Health Advocate have expounded on Kegel's work to develop more effective exercises, exercises for muscles you probably never knew you had. They also cover diet, relieving stress, depression, sexual problems, prolapse trouble, and pelvic pain. The program looks very effectual and takes only 8-16 weeks. I believe you will see results very quickly. Also available are sources for exercise weights and/or the Kegel Master.

The information found here will likely not be easy to find anywhere else but it can't be emphasized how very important it can be. All of us should be educated on this and this is the book to do it with.

Thank you all for your comments and responses. I know it's a sensitive subject. I thought everyone will think I have these problems, especially if this gets on Facebook.....friends, family, distant family & friends, people I see in church every Sunday. The other reviews on Librarything were also 'blushing'. We've all been Good Sports . That counts a lot. ^.^)

Thank you for bringing this up Rosalie. Although these are delicate subjects it's nice to know that maybe we should think of them and save ourselves and others some trouble later. Diane

Well---it's not a problem I have, but it is more common as folks get elderly. My sweet father-in-law (who is almost 100) has a little problem with it --but alot of that probably has to do with his age!

My mother used to have a friend who suffered from this --so she never would leave her home. I always thought that was sad... (That was in the days BEFORE the adult diapers were available.)

It is an important subject and one which most people don't or won't talk about.

Thanks...
Hugs,
Betsy
