I've been searching for my self again. I must have misplaced it in the move. Yesterday I kept thinking about the dolls I have put away, and I am so glad they haven't been given away. I want to bring them out now. I woke up this morning thinking about one in particular who is dressed in winter clothes and reminds me of Lara from Dr. Zhivago.
Khrystibear has a degree in Humanities. We have talked several times about the Feminine Mystique and the journey of the Godess. It is a complex to explain so I'm hoping you know what I'm talking about. I have read Amore and Psyche, which deals with this. What I relate to most is the part of Psyche sorting seeds as part of demands to prove her feminine value. She sits on a large carpet that is covered with thousands of seeds of all sizes and shapes. It is her job to sort them all into neat little piles. It is a common universal representation of rite of passage into womanhood. Is there any of us who can't relate to that?!! And dolls express the inner self. Perhaps that's why I'm wanting to have mine out someplace. I just do not know where that is going to be yet. I recognize the nesting thing going on with me? I've been spending time in the shabby chic stores lately, but oh, it is so exciting. I just know something I want and Need is in there someplace. It's so much fun to look for it. And, yes, usually I find that and a bit more. The down side of this, for me, is feeling frustrated and confused. But I'll get over that. The thing to do is enjoy the quest. It all belongs to me and I am creating my own world. I have created my own world...my own self. It's more possible now to achieve goals than it ever has been. Most of the seeds have been sorted. I'm getting there. ^.^) I'll get the doll out tomorrow and post a picture so you can see it.
