This beautiful place is Star Valley, Wyoming. It is full of farms and big skies and fresh air, fabulous sunsets, lots of trees, and peace.

The towns are small and beautiful. Peace is everywhere, especially in the sunsets. I remember sunsets from my childhood. They are a perfect ending to the day and let you feel safe and secure and they are easy to see. The building here is the church tabernacle in Afton. I think it was new when my family lived there sixty years ago. I remember going there for conferences and meetings, and having lunches or picnics outside. Through the block was my Greatgrandmother's house. It's gone now, but the memories never will be.
Many of our family lived and died in Star Valley. Our parents, grandparents, greatgrandparents, great-uncles and aunts and cousins all made their homes there. Many of them died and are buried there. Star Valley has always been home for us. Saturday it was announced in General Conference that there are plans to build an LDS Temple in Star Valley. I don't know how to express how happy that makes me. It's like bringing Heaven here to earth. There are several temples in Utah, but this one is very, very special. Afton is only a 3-4 hour drive for us so we can easily get there. I am just thrilled. I wanted to post pictures so everyone could see this beautiful place.

Wow---what a gorgeous place for them to build a temple. It does look like serenity and peace there. I know that you have so many great memories of the area. Do you have any relatives still there????
Hugs,
Betsy
I can see where it would be so wonderful for you to have a temple built in the place where you call home. I was in Star Valley once, a long time ago. It was so pretty and green, it reminded me of what I thought Switzerland looked like. I hope you had a good week traveling back to your home. Thank you, too, always, for your sweet comments. Diane
BEAUTIFUL! It was so nice spending some time with you and visiting our home. It will always be home.
