I've just been to Barnes & Noble and I bought a copy of WHERE WOMEN CREATE, a magazine for [inspiring work spaces of extraordinary women], the may, june, july 2010 issue. It is as good as buying a book, cost is $15.99. That is expensive for a magazine, but looking inside you realize you get plenty for your dollar. This (softcover) book is very generously laid out with lots of full-size, beautifully colored photographs on high-quality paper that feature stories of women who are recognized for their creative successes in several different aspects. Each woman tells her own story and takes the reader on a visual tour of her workspace. LOTS of ideas are here, everywhere. Advertising blends in beautifully with the theme and is kept to pages either at the very beginning or very end. You are barely aware that the ads are commercial because you want to check out all the websites listed so you can look at more pretty things. I found a feature on Susan Rios that was a delight, because I have her book, [DESIGNER SCRAPBOOKS with SUSAN RIOS.] It is a favorite of mine and so awesome. Also was a piece by Jo Packham showing books she found in The Children's Hour, which is "right over there, around the corner"....in my very own city. That was fun. And I am aware there are some of you who have also been featured in this magazine. No wonder it feels so friendly and personal. I just wanted to put this out there, so if anyone who hasn't seen it gets the chance, she will want to take a look. It is so awesome. Now, for sure I am planning to make myself a studio to create in. I just needed the enthusiasm that I found in there.

I used what I had in photos here. It's not very glamorous. This was a decorative stick that was used in the flower arrangement I had sent to my sister's funeral last winter. To my surprise it sprouted leaves after a few days, so I snapped this picture.

I love the picture... it feels like going somewhere or looking up to something. I'll have to look at your book/magazine next time I come over. I could use some peace and inspiration. Miss you!

You can't call that $15.99 book a magazine... It sounds like a soft-cover book to me... I'm glad you are enjoying it... I'm sure there are many inspirational stories in there -from very creative women!!!!
