PERFECTLY BEAUTIFUL

Aunt Marie has come up from Elko to visit Aunt Shelly. Today the three of us drove up to Logan so we could see the changing colors of the leaves in the canyons. The news reports had promised the trees would be glowing with color. We were quite disappointed. There was hardly a colored tree anywhere. But the sun was shining and the air was just cool so it was a beautiful day.
We drove up Highway 89 and through Willard. Along the way, just the same as when Mama and Daddy would go up the same highway, were several fruit stands open for business, their stands loaded with pumpkins of all sizes, squash of all colors, peaches (so beautiful), apples with no wax sprayed on them, plums, peppers and so much more....so beautiful!!!! So much abundance!!!!! So much sunshine. It is glorious.
We stopped at a place called Grammy's because that's what Aunt Marie's grandchildren call her. Centered in all this wonderful display of vegetation was a hitching post with several hooks for the handles of various sizes of wagons. The wagons had wooden frames built up to help hold loads of good stuff. And we and others pulled our little wagons around behind us, filling it with pumpkins and squash and apples. It was just wonderful!!
My grandchildren sooo need to go up there and experience this back to nature bountiful way of harvest. It's such a divine way of harvest and thanksgiving. There is a connection between you and nature and our Divine Provider that can't be experienced any other way.
Snow is predicted for this coming up weekend. It may put an end to the open market stands. I hope not. I don't want to wait until next year to take them all up there and they really need to have the experience.
